Gratitude ritual: a thank-you gift for a loved one and the people who matter to you
The Bending Mind team

In short: the Gratitude ritual is a ritual for your mind to warm the soul: 20 capsules with thoughts that help you notice the good that’s already there. It’s a gift that says “thank you” – to a loved one, a friend or a colleague. It costs €15 and comes in a kraft gift box that lists the ingredients and how to enjoy it.
What’s inside the Gratitude ritual
Gratitude doesn’t always come with big occasions – most often it hides in small things: the morning coffee, a kind word, a quiet evening. The Gratitude ritual reminds you that happiness isn’t what we’re still waiting for, but what we already have.
The symbolic ingredients of each capsule:
- Noticing 40% – opens your eyes to the small wonders of everyday life.
- Reflection 35% – helps you appreciate how far you’ve come.
- Kindness 25% – encourages you to share what you have.
What research says about gratitude
In 2003, psychologists Robert A. Emmons and Michael E. McCullough asked study participants to write down, once a week, what they were grateful for. Compared with participants who wrote about everyday hassles or neutral events, the gratitude group rated their lives more favourably and felt more optimistic about the week ahead. In a 2005 study by Martin Seligman and colleagues, a week-long “three good things” exercise was linked to greater happiness for up to six months. Gratitude doesn’t solve every difficulty, but it’s a simple habit worth trying.
Who to give the Gratitude ritual to
- A loved one – a warm Christmas gift for someone dear to you, or simply a thank-you for being there.
- A colleague or the team – as a thank-you for the year together.
- Someone who has helped you – a mentor, a neighbour, a doctor.
- Yourself – if you’d like to start a gratitude practice.
How to make gratitude a habit
- In the morning, pull one Gratitude capsule and let its thought accompany your day.
- In the evening, write down three good things that happened and why they happened.
- Once a week, write a thank-you message to a specific person.

Does it work as a gift for a whole team?
Yes. Any three rituals get 10% off, and each ritual is packed separately, so they’re easy to hand out one by one.
Do you need to keep a gratitude journal every day?
